Tony Lohrey designed and built a 24 hour information service in June of 1985.





The service offered the general public, dial-up access to shareware and public domain application and utility programs. It also offered access to many local and international echomail message areas (like newsgroups). The information service was successful in that it survived the introduction of the world wide web and was successfully moved twice between states, following the Lohrey family unit through its moves. Speaking of families, it is worth reading about the troubles parents have some days!
 

Based upon the Maximus(tm) and Frontdoor(tm) bulletin board applications, the service grew to a modest membership of 220 clients. Many of which held financial share in the enterprise.
 

In 1993, Tony Lohrey registered a business name, AXLSoft Information and Consulting Service. This business remained in operation until October 1997 when a shelf company was procured, it was named AXLSoft Pty Ltd and is registered with the Australian Securities & Investments Commission, our ACN is 080 315 340.
 

AXLSoft supports businesses in the Brisbane CBD through to the Sunshine Coast, over 50 companies are now supported.
 

AXLSoft remains an Australian company and offers engineering support in the many facets of information technology.
